IU 172: New Student Seminar: First-Year & Transfer Student Success | Section 32 | Tuesdays & Thursdays 3:30 – 4:20 PM

This 1-credit class runs for the first half of the Fall Semester, and begins on Week 2.
Course Description:
In this this course, new first-year students will learn about creating a successful transition to CSU, through the lens of our LGBTQIA+ experiences. Through self- awareness, reflection, and planning, students will explore different aspects of the transition to college including academic success as well as personal and professional goal setting. Through these opportunities, students will be exposed to planning for their success at CSU and beyond. This course will provide a support network for new students to aid in building their community to enrich the first semester transition.

Bar-B-Queer

Join Pride and the Women & Gender Advocacy Center on the first Friday of the school year for our welcome BBQ! Come learn how to get involved in all things connected to queerness, gender and sexuality beyond just our centers. Food trucks, performances, and more!
We will be participating in Ram Welcome – we call it our Rainbow Ram Welcome!
Drop In with the Director of Pride

The Pride Resource Center invites you to drop in for our open house hour with the Director of the Pride Resource Center. Parents and families are welcome to stop by to ask about resources, safety, and any questions you may have. Join us in LSC 232 to visit during move in.
Pancakes with Pride

New students are invited to join the Pride Resource Center for a pancake breakfast to kick off Ram Welcome by getting connected to our LGBTQIA+ community.
Street Fair
Friday, Aug 18
Stop by the Pride table to learn more about our mentoring program, new student seminar, and upcoming retreat! Look for the rainbow flag at the picnic to find some LGBTQIA+ friends to eat with!
Pride Open House
Friday, Aug 16
Stop by the Pride Resource Center for a quick tour of our space and to learn about queer and trans resources on campus. Stick around for an ice cream social outside on the lawn.
Ramapalooza
Friday, Aug 16
Pride will be open during Ramapalooza to host a Sensory-Friendly space with the Women & Gender Advocacy Center and Student Disability Center. Come in and chill!
The Rams in Q’mmunity LGBTQIA+ Mentoring Program is designed to support your transition to Colorado State University and set you up for academic, personal, and social success! Inspired by the concept of chosen family and the important role it plays in Queer identity development, we hope to connect CSU students to students with similar identities navigating the complexities and joys of being LGBTQIA+.
Stop by the Pride Resource Center to say hi, get a tour, and talk about ways you can get connected to community & resources.
We are located in the Lory Student Center Room 232, down the hallway from Sweet Sinsations Coffee Shop.
