Rainbow Ram Welcome
Date: August & September
We welcome all students to campus for the fall semester through participating in Ram Welcome and hosting events like Pancakes with Pride, the Welcome Back BBQ, and Mentoring Kick-Off week.
LGBTQIA+ History Month
Date: October
October is LGBTQIA+ History Month! Each year, the Pride Resource Center participates in the nation-wide celebration of LGBTQIA+ History Month, centered around National Coming Out Day on October 11th. There will be great events happening all month long.
Pride Family Dinner
Date: December
Pride Family Dinner is the Pride Resource Center’s end of Fall Semester celebration. This includes bringing together friends of the center to celebrate the end of the semester, particularly for students graduating in December. All are welcome to attend this event.
Lavender Ceremony
Date: End of Semester
The Lavender Ceremony is the Pride Resource Center’s annual end of year celebration. All are welcome to join us in celebrating graduates, scholarship recipients, annual award winners, and other accomplishments of the year. Colleges and universities across the United States have participated in celebrations like this for the last 20+ years to continue the tradition of celebrating with our chosen family.
Pride Month
Date: June
Pride Month, celebrated each June, was created to commemorate the Stonewall Inn Uprising, which is often pointed to as the spark of the modern gay rights movement. Similar parades, parties, protests, marches, and resource fairs continue every year throughout June and the summer to carry on this tradition as what we now know as Pride Month.
