Orgullo Rising - returning student success
Grow the relationships, skills, and confidence to pursue your post-graduation and career goals!
Orgullo Rising is a mentoring program focused on supporting students in their 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year who are looking to set themselves up for success after graduation. This includes interest in pursuing graduate school, employment, internships, STEM-related research positions, and more. This program is a collaboration between El Centro and the Pride Resource Center and is open to all.
Goals of Orgullo Rising
By participating in Orgullo Rising, students will be able to:
- Grow relationships that support their success at CSU and beyond.
- Grow strategies and skills to pursue their post-graduation and career goals.
- Grow their confidence in pursuing their post-graduation and career goals.
— All while navigating these processes in community and honoring your authentic self!
What Can I Expect of the program:
Over the course the academic year, participants will:
- Connect with a mentor who is currently a graduate student at CSU.
- Attend personalized 1:1 meetings to create and reflect on goals to support their post-graduation success.
- Attend workshops focused on academic success, career readiness, and research/internship opportunities.
- Build community through events throughout the Cultural Resource Centers.
- Access a network of peers, campus resources, and support services (like El Centro, Career Center, Pride, and more).
- End the year with synthesizing how they have prepared for their post-graduation and career success into a mini portfolio to present to their peers and use in future applications.
Whether you’re clarifying your major, preparing for your career, or simply seeking a supportive community, Orgullo Rising is here to meet you where you are and help you move forward with confidence.
