Mental Health & Counseling Resources

Pride works in collaboration with Counseling Services at the CSU Health Network to provide counseling and other mental health resources to students.

I need immediate support right now.

If you have an urgent mental health concern and need immediate mental health support, please call (970) 491-6053 to speak with an on-call counselor from the CSU Health Network now. This number is available 24/7, including on weekends and holidays.

For suicide hotlines not connected to CSU:

Non-CSU walk-In Crisis Services are available at Summitstone, a community organization.

If you or someone else is in a life-threatening emergency, please call 911.

Drop-In Counseling Services

In order to access some of our services, you may need to have an internal referral or screening.  For students interested in accessing group therapy or brief individual counseling the first step is to visit Mental Health Services during drop-in hours, located on the third floor of the CSU Health and Medical Center.

During drop-in hours, you can meet with an on-call counselor to co-create a wellness plan with services that are best for you based on your unique circumstances.

I'm looking to talk to someone who understands my LGBTQIA+ identities.

Students who identify as Black, Indigenous, and people of color, members of the LGBTQ+ community, and/or have a disability also can access Multicultural Counseling Drop-In Hours. These times are reserved for you to meet with one of our Multicultural Counseling Team members, who specialize in working with students from diverse backgrounds. These appointments are brief and are designed to help students: access counseling services, process personal conflict, work on identity specific concerns, and/or seek guidance from a mental health professional with a marginalized identity.

How to access:

  1. Drop-in at Mental Health Services Monday – Thursday 1:00 – 3:00 pm, or call Mental Health Services at 970-491-6053.  Tell the front desk staff “I’d like to schedule a Multicultural Consult appointment”.  Please do not contact providers directly.  Students in need of mental health crisis intervention can also call Mental Health Services at 970-491-6053, or use our after-hours care options.

Note: Students in need of mental health crisis intervention can also call Counseling Services at (970) 491-6053.
