Student Diversity Programs and Services Offices

Colorado State University (CSU) is proud of its efforts to enhance, appreciate and support diversity and multi-culturalism as part of its mission as a land-grant institution of higher education. Below are a selection of programs and services designed to support students in a variety of ways and provide opportunities to successfully participate in, and contribute to, the diverse campus environment. While each office listed may emphasize a specific segment of the student body, services and programs are available to benefit all students at CSU.

 

Black/African American Cultural Center

The Black/African American Cultural Center (B/AACC) promotes a diverse, inclusive campus environment and serves as a resource to the campus community as well as surrounding communities, through academic, professional, cultural and personal development programs that embrace Black and African American experiences. The primary goal is to enhance the overall college experience so that students achieve academically and are able to compete in a global society. The office has as one of its foremost goals to enhance students’ knowledge of the culture, history, heritage, and traditions that are unique to the African American experience.

Asian/Pacific American Cultural Center

The APACC office welcomes all students and seeks to create a safe place for students of all backgrounds. The APACC office runs several educational and volunteer programs for students to help spread awareness of Asian American culture and connect students with one another.

El Centro

The mission of El Centro is to provide support for the Latinx community at CSU and Fort Collins. We do this by encouraging student engagement, academic success, cultural pride, empowerment, and volunteer/leadership opportunities. We strive to promote an inclusive environment that focuses on awareness and understanding of the Latinx experience.

Native American Cultural Center

The Native American Cultural Center (NACC) aims to ensure a successful educational experience for students by providing support and services related to recruitment, retention, graduation, and community outreach. The office embraces and encourages a supportive environment based on the traditions and cultures of Native American peoples.

Women and Gender Advocacy Center

The Women and Gender Advocacy Center (WGAC) provides programs and resources focusing on all genders, social justice, and interpersonal violence prevention. Additionally, WGAC provides advocacy and support for victims of sexual violence, stalking, sexual harassment and relationship violence. Our purpose is to provide a safe and affirming space for the students we serve at Colorado State University, while supporting systemic change to end all forms of oppression within our community.

Student Disability Center

The Student Disability Center (formerly Resources for Disabled Students) recognizes that disability reflects diverse characteristics and experiences, and is an aspect of diversity integral to society. To that end, we collaborate with students, instructors, staff, and community members to create useable, equitable, inclusive and sustainable learning environments. SDC is also committed to supporting Colorado State University as a non-discriminating environment for qualified students with disabilities as mandated by Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 and its amendments.
